Misi-ziibi Aberations

Critic: Derek Hoeferlin, 4th Semester Studio

Brief: Address a contemporary issue of industry surrounding the Mississippi River at St. Louis

Project: A semi-permanent sediment collection system with a deployable pod for the distribution of collected sediment. The semi-permanent unit occupies space within a zone currently under the control of a single entity funded by tax-payer dollars, the Barge Industry. By asserting a presence within the rivers, the new system draws attention to the imbalance of the regulatory system and challenges the existing monopoly.
